Jennifer Lynn Lamar, aged 65, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at her home in St. Joseph, MO. Born on April 22, 1959, in St. Joseph, MO, she was the daughter of the late Patricia and Robert Lamar. Jennifer, known affectionately as Jenny, graduated from Benton High School in the Class of '77 and went on to earn a degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology from Missouri Western State University.
Her career spanned several notable companies, including Stetson Hats, Altec, where she worked for 13 years, Snorkel, and Broderson Manufacturing, where she dedicated 12 years to Computer-Aided Drafting. Jenny had a passion for life, enjoying activities such as camping, cooking, baking, playing softball, and cheering for the Chiefs, Royals, and Mustangs. Her love for live music took her around the world, where she attended concerts and connected with her favorite artists and friends.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother, Bill Lamar, and sister, Nancy Lamar Pease, both of St. Joseph, MO, her brother, Timothy Lamar, and his partner Susan Wellford of Roeland Park, KS, her nieces, Carolyn Pease and Katie Lamar, as well as many extended family members and her close friend, Katie Morales. The family extends a special thank you to Katie Morales and the Schoenberger family for their care and love for Jenny.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 19, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7:00 PM, followed by the service at 7:00 PM at the Rupp Funeral Home, officiated by Chaplain Floyd Ferguson.
