Jennie Sue (Odom) Carter, age 83, of Clarksdale, Missouri, passed away on January 14, 2026, in Savannah, Missouri.
She was born on December 26, 1942, in Leesville, Louisiana, to Virginia Pauline Gordner and James Calvin Odom.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul Carter, her sons Gene Hathorn and Lesley Harralson and her great granddaughter Madelyn Willow Pence.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter Peggy Pence, of Tunnel Hill, GA; her son Charles Coutts, Jr (Terri) of Sheboygan, WI; and her daughter Alana Taylor (Jeff) of Kansas City, MO. She is also remembered fondly by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends whom she deeply cherished.
A devoted member of Clarksdale Baptist Church, she spent many joyful years active in her church community. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, and spending time with the people she loved most. Her vibrant spirit, creativity, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Farewell Services 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 23, Clarksdale Baptist Church. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Clarksdale Baptist Church.
