Virginia Rose Beal, 95, of Mound City, Mo, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Tiffany Heights Care Center.
Virginia was born on Feb. 12, 1928 in Maryville, Mo. to Robert and Beulah (Mounts) McGinness, the sixth of nine children. Virginia graduated from Horace Mann High School.
On April 6, 1946 she married John Beal in Lawrence, Kansas, and they became parents of two daughters.
Virginia was an active member of the Mound City First Christian Church, serving as a Sunday school leader and as a member of the Circle of Ruth. She belonged to P.E.O. for more than 70 years and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a 4-H club project leader and served as Holt County YEA. Virginia was honored as the Grand Marshal for the 4th of July parade and Senior 4th of July Queen. She was a long time member of the Shiloh Extension Club. Virginia was known for her generous spirit and never ending pledge of stewardship. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and spending time with family.
Preceding her in death was her husband, John, in 2012; son-in-law, David Dalbey; sister-in-law, Barbara Hays; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth (JoAnn) McGinness and Marlin (Pearl) McGinness; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Beverly (Richard) Goff, Lois McGinness, Roberta Leeper Richey, Roberta’s first husband Marvin Leeper and her second husband Glenn Richey, Doris (Don) Willsie, and Shirley Louden Couch, Shirley’s first husband Marshall Couch and her second husband Terry Louden.
Survivors include her daughters, Christie Beal of Lakewood, Colorado and Becky Dalbey of Burlington Junction, Missouri; brother, Bob (Connie) McGinness of Maryville, Missouri; grandchildren, Trish Dalbey, Angie (Dave) Mowbray, and Jeff (Michelle) Dalbey; great grandson, Dalton Mowbray; nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Services: Tuesday, October 24, 2023, 11:30 am, Mound City First Christian Church. Family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 am at the church. Interment: South Bethel Cemetery. The family is thankful for for the outstanding care Virginia received from Tiffany Heights and Three Rivers Hospice. Memorials: The Mound City First Christian Church and Holt County 4-H.
