Larry Ray Moore, 77, of Hiawatha, formerly of Fairview, passed away December 20, 2024.

Larry was born April 16, 1947 at Holton, Kansas one of two children born to John R. and Rowena E (Ray) Moore. Larry grew up in Fairview, KS and graduated high school in 1965. He was a member of the Sabetha National Guard.

He and Wanda Watkins were united in marriage, September 20, 1967.  They lived in Fairview until the National Guard was activated and sent him to train in Colorado Springs. After the birth of their daughter Wanda joined him. Each loved the mountains and vowed to someday live there.  Larry was sent to Vietnam and spent six months there. God watched over him and he came home safe. They were later blessed with two sons.

Larry worked as a welder at Mac Equipment, then ExtruTech, both of Sabetha. Larry and Wanda’s dream came true in 1998 they moved to Buena Vista, Colorado and drove in the mountains as often as they could. Larry worked at the City Market for 21 years before retiring then moved to Hiawatha to be close to family and friends. Larry loved the Lord and was a very loving, giving man.
