Janet Cay Miller, 68 of Helena, MO passed at her home surrounded by her family Monday March 23, 2026. She was born May 9, 1957 in St. Joseph, MO to Carlton & Fern (Schottel) Dixon. She married Mark Miller at Hope Church on Sept 9, 1977 and he survives of the home.
Janet had a heart that held more love for others than it did for herself, and had a laugh and sense of humor that brightened any mood. Her presence could make anyplace feel like home.
Janet’s favorite activities in life were always centered around her family and friends, especially riding horses, going to ball games, Sunday mornings at Hope Church, and family trips to Lake “Kab” Kabetogama. But her absolute favorite thing was just being with her family, especially her grandkids, and even everyone else’s grandkids. Proudly known to many as “Momma J,” “Grandma Janet,” or “Mrs. Miller” the teacher (of 37 years), she was a loving mother and grandmother to every kid she met. Her hugs were safe and warm and unforgettable, and could be a harbour through any storm.
Janet is survived by her husband; children, Ethan Miller of Helena, Caylee Miller Knox of Kansas City, MO, and Colby (Lauren) Miller of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Landen Miller, Karah Miller, Jace Miller, and August Knox; siblings, Gail Fankhauser, Brad (Kristie) Dixon, and Clay (Tami) Dixon all of Cosby, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gary Dixon.
Memorial Services will be 11:00 am, Saturday March 28, 2026 at Hope Church in Cosby, MO. Memorial donations can be made to Hope Church.
A Celebration of Life will be held on her birthday May 9, 2026 at Helena Community Center in Helena, MO. starting at 5:00pm.
