Janet L. Shackelford, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on October 24, 2023, at the age of 73. She was born on September 17, 1950, to the late John Leslie and Elizabeth Claudine (Miller) Daniel in Gentryville, Missouri.
Janet graduated from Stanberry High School in 1968. She married Rickey Joe Shackelford on October 26, 1968 and were married for 50 years before his passing in 2019.
She dedicated a remarkable 55 years of her life to the American Angus Association, where she was deeply appreciated for her love and friendly nature by colleagues.
Janet was a beloved family member and friend. She is survived by her sister, Linda Bentley; brother-in-law, Roger Shackelford; nieces and nephews, Susan Buttress (Jamie), Doug Bentley, and Derick Shackelford (Shelley); numerous other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family, and many workplace friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Rickey Joe Shackelford, her dear brother, Johnny Daniel, and brother-in-law, Kenny Bentley. As we remember Janet, her radiating warmth, loving nature, and friendly personality leave a positive memory etched in our hearts.
