BUCHANAN COUNTY—A Kansas man was injured in an accident just after 9:30a.m. Thursday in Buchanan County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Hyundai driven by Keldon M. Reynolds, 21, Atchison, was westbound on U.S. 59 one mile east of Atchison.
The driver lost control of the vehicle due to a mechanical failure. The vehicle crossed the center line and struck a 2013 Chevy Traverse driven by Jerry F. Jackson, 70, Garden City, Kansas. After impact, the Hyundai slid off the road, struck a concrete wall and came to rest partially on the wall.
Buchanan County EMS transported Reynolds to Mosaic Life Care. Jackson was not injured. Reynolds was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
