Rain and lightning in St. Joseph forced the St. Joseph Mustangs and North Missouri Naturals to postpone their matchup until a later date, the game not even making it out of the first inning.
The game went into delay in the bottom of the first inning, with the Mustangs trailing the Natty's 3-0. Frankie Brazil scored on a groundout by Hudson Karczynski, a bases loaded hit by pitch on Gage Scott drove in Evan Rainey, and a wild pitch brought home Ty Hall to give the Naturals out of Kirksville the lead.
In the bottom half of the inning, Bishop LeBlond alum Frank Gall grounded out before Missouri Western's Seth Winkler singled and stole second base, advancing to third on a throwing error. With Winkler at third, his Missouri Western teammate Micah Kobuszewski popped out for the second out before the game went into delay.
With the game postponed, a makeup date has not yet been announced, however the Mustangs did announce fans who had a ticket to tonight's game can use it for any future Mustangs game of equal or lesser value for the remainder of this season, next season, or any game the Mustangs play at Phil Welch Stadium.
Fans can watch the Mustangs social media pages for a makeup game date against the Natty's. Until then, St. Joseph will next hit the road tomorrow to face the Carroll Merchants. The next game at Phil Welch Stadium will be June 19th.
