DAVIESS COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before noon Monday in Daviess County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 driven by 63-year-old Kenneth G. Smith of Gallatin was eastbound on MO 6 three miles west of Gallatin when he was stopped in traffic. A 2004 Freightliner semi driven by 65-year-old Jacob W. Byler of Weatherby rear-ended the pick-up. The impact drove both vehicles off the south side of the road, where they came to rest on their wheels.

A private vehicle transported Smith to Cameron Regional Medical Center. Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
