Sabino Luca "Sam" DeGisi, 92, of Overland Park, KS; beloved husband to Janice Clark DeGisi, formerly of Atchison, KS, passed from this world on February 27th, 2023.
The dear father of Tom (Jane) of Overland Park, KS; Luz (James) Alfonsi of Portland, OR ; and Joe (Liza Hart) of Smithers, British Columbia; Sam was preceded in death by his daughter Jane Anne, and grandsons Phillip, and Joseph James.
Sam was heavily involved in his community including through Cure of Ars Church in Leawood, KS, and St. Mary's Food Kitchen in Kansas City, KS.
Sam is also survived by his grandchildren Mariah and Lydia of Overland Park; Talia (Hunter) Hatfield of Lithia, FL; and Catherine and Matthias of Smithers, BC.; sisters Catherine DeMeo of Florida and Jennifer DeGisi-Baldini of New Jersey, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 3rd at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home in Atchison, KS. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Atchison. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
