St. Joseph police answered a shots-fired call very early this morning and initially didn’t find anything, but later found shell casings and suspect a person who checked himself into the emergency room might have been involved.

St. Joseph police report one call came in at two o’clock this morning, alerting police to investigate a shooting at 15th and Lafayette. Officers arrived, but couldn’t find anything. Another caller then directed police to the 11-Hundred block of South 14th Street where officers found shell casings.

Later, a 46-year-old man admitted himself into the Mosaic emergency room. Police suspect he might have been involved in the reported shooting.
