Jacob “Jake” Koehler, a man who loved life, loved his family and loved Jesus, died January 7, 2025, at the age of 64.
A funeral service will be Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Mike Carney. A visitation will begin at noon before the service at the church. Jake will be laid to rest at Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
Jake was born on September 13, 1960, in Atchison, KS, the son of Kenneth Koehler and Beatrice (Gonzales) Koehler. He graduated high school and attended vo-tech for auto mechanics, although every project he worked on he always had extra parts and bolts, so he became a CNA, where he worked at Cray Manor and later served as a ward clerk at the Atchison Hospital.
Jake married Teresa Boldridge on May 25, 1983, in Oskaloosa, KS, and they shared over thirty years of marriage. He joined Trinity Lutheran Church in 1997 and has been a strong supporter of the church and school. He enjoyed attending Sunday School and Bible classes. Jake loved watching his daughter grow up and play sports and never missed an event. He never missed an opportunity to sing karaoke and most recently had fun making countless TikTok's. He was an avid deer hunter, in 2006 he shot his most prized deer, which scored 205 points. Jake would want us to say one more thing, “Go Chiefs!”
He is survived by his wife, Terri Koehler; his daughter, Cara Koehler (Mark Smith); and his favorite little ones who called him Papa, Mia-Jo, Amora Lee, Mila-Ann and Leola June, and his six bonus grandchildren; He is also survived by his brother, Dan (Martha) Koehler, his nieces, nephews and many cousins. He always loved and remembered the five babies that he and Terri lost over the years.
