Harrison Butker made history on Sunday with a pair of 58-yard field goals - the latter of which won the game in overtime for the Kansas City Chiefs - and his efforts are being rewarded with some hardware.
Butker was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week on Wednesday following his stellar performance, which saw him match the franchise record for field goal distance not once, but twice. Only Nick Lowery, who connected from exactly 58 yards twice in his career, had ever hit from that distance in a Chiefs' uniform prior to Butker's efforts on Sunday.
His second 58-yarder, which won the game for Kansas City, made him just the second kicker in NFL history to convert multiple attempts of 58+ yards in a single game. It's also worth mentioning that Butker hit the game-winner three times due to various factors nullifying the previous two kicks, making his composure all the more remarkable.
Butker also connected on a 30-yard field goal as time expired to send the game to overtime.
This marks Butker's fourth AFC Special Teams Player of the Week Award and his first since Week 9 of last season. The four-year veteran already owns the NFL record for total points through three career seasons (426), and following his performance on Sunday, it's safe to say there are plenty of more records on the horizon for Butker.
