Reverend Charles Albert Walker Jr was born August 21, 1946 to Charles and Mary Walker of St. Joseph, Mo. He passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020 due to complications of COVID.
Charles grew up in St. Joseph, Mo. He spent his whole life in St. Joseph, attending Lake Contrary Elementary through graduation from Benton High School in 1966. He went on to attend the International Gospel Association Seminary, where he received his Doctorate in Theology.
He met his wife, Betty J. Burton, at a church service, and they were married after just 2 weeks on September 15, 1973. They were married for 44 years. They had 4 children. Charles was in the ministry for 55 years as an Evangelist Pastor. He was currently ministering for Pastor Brian Gitthens at the Reach Church in Cameron, Mo. He also taught at South Park Christian Academy for 15 years. he loved teaching and helping wherever he was needed.
He enjoyed attending his children's and grandchildren's sports games and extra curricular activities to cheer them and their teams on, he was definitely the loudest fan.
Charles was proceeded in death his by his wife, Betty J Walker, his parents, Charles Sr and Mary Walker, his 4 brothers, Marion Smith, David Smith, William (Bill) Smith, and James Smith.
He is survived by his 4 children: son, Jonathan Walker, daughters, Melody Vallejo, Jenny Trueblood, and Charity (Abioeun) Onakoyo, his grandchildren, Rebecca Vallejo, Isaac Vallejo, Melinda Lopez, Taylor Miller, Tyler Miller, Benjamin Trueblood Jr, and Isaiah Walker, and 4 great grandchildren.
Services pending at the Rupp Funeral Home. Pastor Brian Gitthens officiating. Inurnment at a later date at Bethel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would like you to donate to the Charles Walker Jr Memorial Fund in care of the Rupp Funeral Home.
