
NODAWAY COUNTY — Strong storms spawned two tornadoes in Nodaway County Tuesday morning, according to an investigation by the National Weather Service in Kansas City.
The tornado near Maryville was rated EF-0 with peak winds of 75mph. It was on the ground from 8:50-8:53a.m., had a maximum width of 25 yards and traveled approximately 3.4 miles.

The tornado near Hopkins was rated EF-1 with peak winds of 90mph. It was on the ground from 9:00-9:01 a.m., had a maximum width of 25 yards and traveled just over one half mile. There were no injuries reported from the storm.
