Caleb Book, 46, of St. Joseph, MO passed away Thursday, March 5, 2026. Caleb was born in Fairfax, MO, on April 15, 1979, the son of Dave and Janet Book.
Caleb loved being with family and friends, especially family gatherings and holidays. He and his little brother Alex were very close and spent countless hours at the gym bodybuilding, which was their passion.
He worked in a number of different states as a pipeline project inspector and spent 13 years in the Ardmore, OK area. Caleb became known as “the big guy in the Hummer with the little dog,” Dozer, his mini dachshund who went to work with him every day.
Caleb was active in high school, with track and basketball being his favorite sports. He graduated from South Holt High School in 1997, going on to Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO.
Caleb was a true Chiefs fan, and was a season ticket holder. He would frequently travel from Oklahoma to Arrowhead Stadium to attend home games.
Caleb was a car guy and always had at least one fast car in the driveway.
Preceding him in death was his brother and best friend, Alex, in 2014; grandparents, Jim and Thelma Roberts and Dale and Ginger Book; and uncle, Jeffery Ammon.
Survivors include his parents, Dave and Janet Book of Oregon; aunts and uncles, Ken and Donna Roberts, Carolyn Ammon, Tom and Julie Book, Gary and Kim Roberts, Anna and Brett Derr, and cousins Jane Roberts, Baylor and Noland Ammon, Mike and Madison (Book) DeSantis, Guy Book, Ali Roberts, Emmi and Ayci Ammon and Millie and Thomas Book.
Family visitation: Monday, March 9, 2026, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon. Funeral services will be private. Interment: Forest City Union Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the cemetery.
