Shirley May Scott Schwery, 85, Osborn, Missouri, passed away Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Cameron Nursing Center.
She was born on January 7, 1940, in Plattsburgh, New York, to Virgil and Nellie (Landon) Scott. She was a 1958 graduate of Marceline, Missouri High School.
Shirley married Allen Schwery on January 30, 1960, at St. James Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri. He survives of the home.
She was a graphic artist at Hallmark Cards for 10 years.
Shirley was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Society there. She also was a member of the Lathrop Study Club and Missouri Cattlemen’s Association as well as a bridge player for 56 years.
She dearly loved her sons and family, and her many dogs and cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Schwery; brothers, Virgil Scott and Milton Scott; and sister, Martha Main.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Allen; son, Chris Schwery of Lathrop, Missouri; grandson, Christopher Gage Schwery of Kearney, Missouri; and brother, Charles (Vera) Scott of Connecticut; sister-in-law Linda Scott.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:30AM Thursday October 30, 2025, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church Plattsburg. Interment Calvary Cemetery Plattsburg. The Family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Flowers are appreciated and for those wishing to make a contribution, the family requests they be made to St. Ann’s Catholic Church Altar Society.
