Michael Dixon, 71, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, August 5, 2024.
He was born on May 19, 1953, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Richard L. and Phyllis M. (Chappell) Dixon.
He graduated from Lafayette High School.
Michael married Barbara Ann Dreier on September 7, 1973. She survives of the home.
Michael was self-employed, working alongside his father with Dixon Painting. He continued the family business himself after his father passed.
He was a member of Patee Park Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and treasurer.
Michael was a proud supporter of the NRA who enjoyed buying and selling guns. He loved to go hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Michael never knew a stranger and was a friend to all.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Dixon; brother, Rick Dixon; and brother-in-law, Doug Seiter.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Barbara Dixon; his mother, Phyllis Dixon; children, Jason Dixon (Jamie) and Jamie Harris (John); grandchildren, Baylei Harris, Sydney Dixon and Chase Dixon; siblings, Alana Nash (Pat), Rosemary Dixon, David Dixon, Tim Dixon (Terri), and Lori Seiter; along with multiple nieces and nephews.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 10:00 A.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will gather with friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
