St. Joseph man, toddler hospitalized after driver falls asleep

DAVIESS COUNTY—Two from St. Joseph were injured in an accident just before 2p.m. Monday in Daviess County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Pontiac G6 driven by  Tyler C. Barnes, 25, St. Joseph, was westbound on  Route T three miles north of Pattonsburg.

The driver fell asleep. The car crossed the center line, traveled off the south side of the road and struck a ditch.

NTA ambulance transported Barnes and a 2-year-old boy from St. Joseph to Cameron Regional Medical Center. Barnes was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
