The Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association released it's second round of rankings for the high school baseball season. Several teams from the region remained in the rankings, some falling, and some staying put. Others began receiving votes as well.
In Class 1, Rock Port remained at #5 in the polls with a 12-3 record. Since the first rankings on April 6th, the Blue Jays have lost just two games, one coming to Class 2 Maysville in the Savannah WOW wood bat tournament. Rock Port will face the Wolverines again on May 11th.
In Class 2, Maysville dropped in the rankings, falling from #6 to #9, with a record of 13-5. While the Wolverines beat the Blue Jays, they did also drop a close game against South Harrison on April 7th, one of just two games Maysville lost in the stretch between rankings.
In Class 3, Mid-Buchanan fell out of the Top 10, but did continue receiving votes. On the other hand, the West Platte Blue Jays stayed put at #9 in the rankings. West Platte holds a record of 10-3, while the Dragons are 10-6 on the season. The Blue Jays biggest win between rankings came over North Platte in eight innings. The Dragons had losses in tough competition against Logan-Rogersville, the top team in Class 4, Summit Christian Academy, and Park Hill South.
Benton fell to #7 in the Class 4 rankings, falling from #6. The Cardinals are 12-8, after starting 7-3 in the first rankings. Benton suffered a run rule loss to Savannah and fell to Chillicothe and Harrisonville twice, also losing a game to Faith Christian Academy in the WOW wood bat tournament in St. Joseph. Chillicothe fell in the rankings as well, going from #3 to #5, the Hornets with a record of 11-4. Savannah received votes, the Savages are 10-8 on the season.
