St. Joseph native, Royals prospect Noah Cameron called up to AA Northwest Arkansas

St. Joseph native and Kansas City Royals prospect Noah Cameron is continuing his ascension through the farm system.

The Royals announced Friday that Cameron, a left-handed pitcher, has been called up from High-A Quad Cities to Double-A Northwest Arkansas.

Cameron had a 3.60 ERA with 58 strikeouts in 35 innings for the High-A Quad Cities River Bandits this spring. His strikeout total is tied for second most among all minor league pitchers currently.

His 14.91 strikeouts per nine innings ranks fourth, his strikeout-to-walk percentage of 34.5 percent ranks second in the minors and his swinging strike percentage of 17.5 percent is tied for 13th.

Cameron was drafted by the Royals in the seventh round at 199th overall in 2021. 

He posted a 3.56 ERA in 65.2 innings with three teams across three levels in 2022 with 99 strikeouts and just 16 walks.
