Jalalia "Joann" Owens 53, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023 at her home. She was born July 14, 1970 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
She attended Lafayette High School. She was a Homemaker. She enjoyed going to the boat, attending Hillcrest Bible Church with her grandmother, and gardening.
Joann was preceded in death by her mother, Jeannene Rose Pontius, and husband, Ernie Owens.
She is survived by maternal grandmother, Wilma Nadine Miller, sons, Timmy, James (Cortney), Michael Miller, and Rex Griggs (Heidi Tarwater) all of St. Joseph, MO, step sons: Jonathon Owens and Jaron Langley, six grandchildren, a brother, Ludwig (Ladonna) Halamar of St. Joseph, MO, and five nieces and a nephew.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm on Friday at the Rupp Funeral Home, memorial services following at 2:00 pm Friday, July 21, 2023 at the Rupp Funeral Home. Cremation under the care and direction of the Rupp Funeral Home.
