Charles "Chuck" V. Schott, a lifelong resident of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2023. Born on March 9, 1944, to Leo J. and Juanita M. (Barnett) Schott, Chuck was a kind-hearted man who touched the lives of many.
Chuck graduated from Christian Brothers High School. He went on to serve his country as a member of the Army National Guard. Following his service, he embarked on a fulfilling career with Mead Paper Products, where he worked for 30 plus years. His colleagues at Mead became a second family to him, and he cherished the camaraderie and friendships he formed there.
He was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals, and was a regular at the St. Joe Frontier Casino, where he enjoyed the thrill of the game and the company of friends. An animal lover, he found joy in the companionship of pets. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandson, Tate Buch.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Juanita, and his sister, Janet Corwin.
He is survived by his daughters, Kim, Kelly, Jennifer, and Heather; his grandson, Tate; his brother, Leo "Lee" Schott, Jr. (JoAnn); and his nephews, Matt, Mitch, and Mike, and niece, Mindy, along with numerous other nieces and nephews.
The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, September 22, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. At Chuck’s request, please wear Chief’s gear to celebrate his memory. Private inurnment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
