Dennis Ray Minschke, 70, Savannah, Missouri; passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Dennis was born on January 18, 1954 in Ottumwa, Iowa. He was a 1972 graduate of Savannah High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Missouri Western State College.
Mr. Minschke retired as a claim’s adjustor from Shelter Insurance after many years of dedicated service. He had previously, worked as a science teacher for the Fillmore and Savannah School Districts. In his later years, he enjoyed working as a driver for Enterprise Rent-A-Car after his retirement.
Dennis enjoyed chess, golf outings, playing cards and casino trips with his wife. He was league commissioner of his fantasy football league and enjoyed coaching his children as well as the Fillmore girls basketball team. Dennis’s most prized role was being a family man; he was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather.
Dennis married Willa Gatton on January 30, 1982, and celebrated forty-two years of marriage. She survives him of the home.
Additional survivors include his daughter, Iva Wright (Tim); son, Billy Minschke; grandchildren, Patrick, Jazzlyn, Samuel and Jayde.
Dennis was preceded in death by two grandson, Hayden and Conner Wion and daughter-in-law, Aleigha Minschke.
Mr. Minschke has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 to 3:00 PM Saturday, September 14, at the family home for close friends and family.
