St. Joseph public schools closed; other cancellations coming in today

Overnight snow has caused widespread cancellations today.

The St. Joseph Public School District has canceled classes due to inclement weather and icy road conditions. All classes are canceled; includes Traditional In-Person Learning, Virtual Academy, Hillyard Technical Center, Webster's Adult Education classes, and preschool. Students will not have remote learning today.

St. Joseph School District employees should refer to the district’s inclement weather policy, Scenario B, regarding their work schedule.

St. Joseph Catholic Schools have canceled classes today.

Missouri Western State University has canceled classes on the St. Joseph campus today.

The Savannah R-3 School District has canceled classes today. The district will not be uses it AMI plans.

Doniphan West USD 111 has canceled classes today.

The Andrew County Senior Center will be closed today.

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson declared a State of Emergency and activated the Missouri National Guard to help local governments battle the winter storm

The Executive Order signed by the governor activates the State Emergency Operations Plan, which allows state agencies to assist local jurisdictions with emergency preparation and response. Missouri National Guard members are positioned throughout the state to assist the Missouri State Highway Patrol with stranded motorists if the need arises.
