Reid B. Ordnung, 93, Savannah, MO; passed away Monday, November 30, 2022 at a local health care facility.
Reid was born on the family farm north of Savannah, MO on October 9, 1929 to Herbert and Mabel Ordnung. He was a graduate of Savannah High School in 1947, the St. Joseph Jr. College in 1949 and the School of Banking at the University of Colorado. While in the Army from 1951 to 1953, he served as a Special Agent in the Army Counter Intelligence Corps.
Reid married Marie DeVault on October 31, 1951. Reid began his banking career with the Tootle National Bank in 1958. He was later Vice-President at the American National Bank and then Vice-President and Director at the Community Bank in Savannah. He retired from the Mercantile Bank in 1994.
Reid held numerous positions at the Savannah United Methodist Church in Savannah over the years and was Chairman of the Rolling Hills Library in the 1970’s.
He is survived by his wife, Marie, of the home; daughter, Barbara Yunker; and son, Michael (Patti) Ordnung: grandchildren, Regina Yunker (Mike Rudnicki), Megan Yunker (Matt Higgins), Brett ( Elizabeth) Ordnung and Brennan Ordnung. Reid was proud to be a great-grandfather of Maxwell Rudnicki, Graham Higgins, Emmelyn Higgins, and Brooks Ordnung.
In addition to his parents, Reid was preceeded in death by his son-in-law, John Yunker.
The family would like to thank the staff at Vintage Gardens for the care they provided Reid.
Mr. Ordnung has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel.
The family will receive friends 1:00 - 2:00 PM, Friday, April 14, 2023 at the Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel. A Memorial Service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM. Inurnment with Full Military Honors at the Savannah Cemetery will follow the service.
