Now, southbound Interstate 29 in the St. Joseph city limits is closed as work on the Cook Road Bridge nears completion.
The Missouri Department of Transportation has closed southbound I-29 from I-229 to US Route 169 as Clarkson Construction finishes painting the renovated Cook Road Bridge.
The northbound section of the interstate was closed last week.
Southbound I-29 in St. Joseph is scheduled to be closed from Monday morning through Friday morning.
Southbound I-29 traffic will be re-routed at I-229 and can exit either at U.S. Highway 36 or continue on I-229 to I-29 south of St. Joseph.
