By WHITNEE ICESt. Joseph PostSt. Joseph Police say an 8-year-old girl was shot and seriously wounded this weekend in an accidental shooting. St. Joseph police responded to a shooting late Sunday morning at the Oak Ridge Apartments in the 12-Hundred block of Angelique Street and found the girl suffering from a gunshot wound. St. Joseph Police Captain Jeff Wilson says the girl is being treated at Children's Mercy Hospital... "Currently it's being investigated as an accidental shooting but there are a lot of circumstances surrounding this investigation that will take days and weeks for the investigators to determine what the actual outcome will be," says Wilson.Wilson says the girl's condition has improved since Sunday when taken to the hospital.
