Sharon K. Beckett, 71, of St. Joseph, MO passed away peacefully Monday, March 2nd, 2026 with family by her side at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, NE.

Born in St. Joseph, MO on August 14th, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Franklin B. Younger and Beverly J. Frank. She was a graduate of Lafayette High School class of 1972. On December 29th, 1977, she married William (Bill) Beckett. The next year, they welcomed their first daughter, Heather Nichole (Beckett) Weitzel on November 12, 1979. They welcomed their second daughter, Tiffany Cristine (Beckett) McMullan on February 2nd, 1984. She worked and retired from JCPenney for 35 years with a specialty in human resources. She then worked for Habiger West and retired after 10 years.

Sharon was one who was always dedicated to her daughters and their activities. You could always find her at the softball fields, the marching band field, watching school plays, basketball courts, or simply bowling. Sharon was an avid bowler and bowled for over 40 years. She had competed in many cities, states, and national tournaments. She is a member of the St. Joseph Bowlers Hall of Fame. Bowling is where she met the man she would spend many of her later years with, Lonnie Pinion. They spent 17 years together and enjoyed seeing the growth of each other’s children and later their grandchildren.

Her grandchildren were the spark of her life. She made sure she never missed a moment. Nothing was too much to ask. She was known as Grandma to all. She was loved for bringing brownies to softball games and always lending a hand to anyone who needed it. She enjoyed sitting out and watching all sports from softball, basketball, baseball, soccer, volleyball, sitting through dance recitals and dance competitions. You could always find her supporting her grandchildren. She traveled to multiple states to just sit back and watch.

Sharon is survived by her sisters Valerie (Ronnie) Gilreath, LeeAnn (Timothy) Blizzard. Her daughters Heather (Andrew) Weitzel, Tiffany (Joseph) McMullan. Her beloved Uncle, David Clark. Her grandchildren Jacob and Lauren Weitzel of Mitchell, NE and Emma, Autumn, and Dawson McMullan of Savannah, MO. Her niece Ashli Kerns and daughter Aislinn. Nephew Brent Younger and niece Stacey Kelly. Many cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Franklin, Beverly, stepfather Robert Noland, brother Terry Younger, life partner Lonnie Pinion, brother-in law Ronnie Gilreath, sister-in law Teresa Younger, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Her family would like to thank the emergency staff of the Scottsbluff/Mitchell, NE area and the staff at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.
