Alice Louise White, 100, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

She was born April 22, 1925 near Pickering, Missouri, to John and Gladys (Pistole) Morris. She attended Pickering High School and obtained her bachelor’s degree in education from Northwest Missouri Teachers College (now Northwest Missouri State University).

She began teaching in one-room schoolhouses in Nodaway County and Taylor County, Iowa. She retired from Bessie Ellison Elementary School after teaching 43 years total. She was a member of the Missouri Retired Teachers Association and a life member of the Missouri State Teachers Association and PTA.

Louise was a member of Central Christian Church and belonged to Ladies Hearts and Hands and Opals.

On May 15, 1946, she married Roy Wayne White, who preceded her in death in March 2001. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Gladys (Pistole) Morris; father, John L. Morris; her brothers, Leslie R. Morris, Eldon A. Morris and Russell L. Morris; and sister, Vivian L. Harris.

The family wishes to thank Americare Field Pointe, Freudenthal Hospice and Freudenthal Home Healthcare for their excellent care of Louise.

Survived by family, including nephews, Richard L. Morris and his family, and Karl L. Morris; and niece, Sherrilyn L. Morris, who cared for her in her last years; and nephew Mike White, plus numerous other nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

Farewell Services and Public Livestream 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 18, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 17, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Noyes Home for Children or a charity of the donor’s choice.
