CALDWELL COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 9a.m. Thursday in Caldwell County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2022 Ford F150 driven by an 87-year-old Kidder man was northbcound on Highway J at U.S. 36 in the crossover a two miles south of Kidder. The pickup entered the westbound lanes of U.S. 36. A westbound 2011 Freightliner semi driven by a 27-year-old Coffey man. The semi struck the pickup in the passenger side. After impact the pickup traveled off the road and struck several traffic signs.
Cameron EMS transported the pickup driver to Cameron Regional Medical Center were he was pronounced deceased. Cameron EMS transported an 82-year-old female passenger in the pickup to Liberty Hospital. A private vehicle transported the semi driver to Cameron Regional Medical Center. All three were properly restrained, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
