Stanberry, MO:  Janet Lee Allison (nee Quinn) passed away on December 11, 2023, at the age of 77 in St. Joseph, Missouri.

      She was born on January 19, 1946, in Los Angeles, California to Leiva and (Elby) Curtis Quinn.

They preceded her in death.

      Janet was the beloved wife of Laton Allison for more than 57 years, married on August 12, 1966, in the First Christian Church in Stanberry. She was the loving mother of Tracy Lee Boone (Tom) and Craig Tyler Allison (Marci). She was also a cherished “Gram” to Sally Boone, Jane Boone, Henry Boone, Charlie Boone, and Joseph Allison.

     Janet attended NWMSU and was a proud Wichita State alumna. She worked in many fields including business education, accounting and bookkeeping, tax preparation, U.S. Census counter, and was a fiscal officer at Northwest Regional Council for 10 years. 

     She was active in her community as a member of the Alpha Psi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, a board member of Rolling Hills Creative Living, past Stanberry school board member, serving three years as president. She was a dedicated genealogist and passionate about preserving Stanberry's history. Janet was a member of the National Society of the United States Daughters of Eighteen Hundred and Twelve, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the Stanberry Historical Society.

     She was known for her exceptional qualities of generosity, patience, intelligence, gentleness, kindness and compassion. She loved watching college basketball, especially her Wichita State Shockers or any team from the colleges one of her grandkids attended. An avid solver of puzzles, including crosswords, sudoku, or even untangling a knot in a necklace chain.

     Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16, at Alanthus Grove Church of Christ under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Stanberry, MO. Burial will follow at High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry, MO. A luncheon will be held following the burial at 3 Point Coffee. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at Roberson Funeral Home in Stanberry, Missouri.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Janet's name to the Stanberry Planning and Development Corporation in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O.
