Clarence F. Ashler, 91, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away November 23, 2023.
He was born March 14, 1932 to Oliver and Emma (Butler) Ashler in Maysville, Missouri. They later moved to Union Star, Missouri.
He attended grade school at a one room country school and graduated from high school at Union Star in 1950.
He married Sandra Kay McGinness on April 18, 1970 in Ravenwood, Missouri.
Clarence served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War (September 1952 through September 1954) in the 45th Infantry Division, 189th Field Artillery Battalion B Battery.
After military service, he worked at the St. Joseph Stockyards as an office manager, secretary-treasurer and assistant manager. He retired from there in 1996.
He worked at St. Francis Senior Complex from January 1997 to June 2005, retiring from there after 7-1/2 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Gladys Wright, and brother John Ashler.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Sandra Kay Ashler, daughters Janet Peabody and Deborah Hill, 2 granddaughters, 5 great-grandchildren, brother, Omer Ashler and several nieces and nephews.
