ATCHISON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating several burglaries that occurred on Monday night in Atchison.
An attempt to break into the Orscheln’s Farm Home Store in the 600 block South 10th occurred but entry was not made and nothing was taken, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.
Unlawful entry was made into the Young Dragon Chinese Restaurant in the 800 block U.S.59. Cash and a small amount of food was taken.
Forced entry was made into the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in the 400 block South 6th. Nothing was taken.
Forced entry was made into the Atchison Event Center in the 700 block South 9th where nothing was taken.
A window was manipulated to gain entry into a building on the grounds of Mount Saint Scholastica in the 600 block South 9th where nothing was taken. Another burglary also occurred at a different building on the Mount grounds on May 22 when jewelry and food was taken also remains under investigation.
APD officers continue to follow leads on these cases, according to Wilson.
