Helen Maxine Young 1926 - 2023

Helen Maxine Evans Young died on September 15, 2023 at LaVerna Senior Living, Savannah, MO. She was born March 3, 1926 in King City, MO, to Everett and Stella (Williams) Evans, who proceeded her in death.

Maxine graduated from King City High School in 1944.On April 8, 1949 she married Russell E. Young. They were married for 60 years, living all their married life in St. Joseph, MO. Russell proceeded her in death on May 14, 2009.Maxine worked at three local banks, retiring from American Bank after 30 years. She then retired from K-Mart in 2002. She also volunteered for InterServ and Kendallwood Hospice.

Maxine was a member of the Robidoux Rebekeh Lodge for 38 years, having held several offices. Maxine was of the Christian faith.

She was proceeded in death by her brother, W.D. "Bill" Evans and his wife Helen, sister, Geraldine Bracken and her husband Charles, brother-in-law, Marion Spiers, and son-in-law, John Hood.

She is survived by three daughters; Jacqueline Zimmers, Powhattan, KS, Constance Rankin and husband Michael, St. Joseph, MO, and Marilyn Rodriguez-Hood, St. Joseph, MO. Seven grandchildren; Vickie (Barry) Schuetz, Rhonda (Caleb) Crook, John (Candice) Zimmers, Christina (Brad) Sievers, Trisha Rodriguez, Brandon (Kristen) Rodriguez, and Brittany Rodriguez. Nine great-grandchildren; Carolyn Schuetz, Alexandra Crook, Raven, Ava and Liam Zimmers, Abigail and Ava Sievers, and Crosby and Charleigh Rodriguez. Four step great-grand-children, Devon, Dennis, Vienna, and Scarlett Bruna. One great-great grand-daughter, Briar Chilcoat, and one great-great grand-son, Wyatt Tripp Huestis. She is also survived by her sister, Martha Spiers, Maysville, MO, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services 1:00 PM Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the King City Cemetery, King City, MO. Maxine has been cremated under the direction of Rupp Funeral Home. The family would like to thank the staff of LaVerna Senior Living, Savannah, MO, for their love and compassion shown to mother while in their care. Also, a special thank you to the caretakers from Freudenthal Hospice for their love and support.
