COVID-19 hospitalizations, new cases dropping locally

COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to drop as Mosaic Life Care reports fewer than 30 coronavirus patients in its system for the first time in months.

Mosaic is treating just 24 COVID-19 patients in St. Joseph, with one in Albany and none in Maryville.

Mosaic reported 94 COVID-19 patients in its system in mid-November.

On Tuesday, St. Joseph health officials report only 18 new cases of COVID-19 in Buchanan County and no new deaths. The county has seen over 96-hundred total cases and 153 deaths.

Andrew County reports six new cases, bringing its total to 1,901 with 18 deaths. Gentry County reports 15 new cases for a total of 748.

Doniphan County, Kansas reports 874 total cases.

Missouri health officials report 1,079 new cases Tuesday (451,493 total) and 133 new deaths (6,686 total).

In Kansas, health officials report a total of 269,255 cases resulting in 3,622 deaths.
