William “Don” Linville, 81, Atchison, KS died at home on Monday, Feb. 24, 2025.
Don was born on Feb. 13, 1944, in Trenton, MO the son of Hardy M. and Mildred “Maxine” (Weldon) Linville. He graduated from Gallatin High School in 1962. Don served in the Air National Guard. He started at Hallmark Cards, he later owned and operated Linville Ford Mercury Dealership, and after retiring worked part-time for Lewis Chevrolet. He enjoyed photography, car racing, fishing and going to the casino. Don was always in search of the best tenderloin sandwich and enjoyed his dog ‘Izzy’.
He was married to Sharon Ann (Atwell) on Dec. 22, 1962. She preceded him in death on Feb. 1, 2013. Survivors include daughter Beth Linville, Atchison, grandson Parker Linville, Atchison, a sister Judi McCloud, Gallatin, MO, and a special friend and neighbor May Brown. She describes Don as a wonderful man, the world is a better place because Don Linville was in it. His parents, a brother Larry Linville, and sister Pam Sutton also preceded him in death.
Cremation is planned with no services being held. The Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
