Mary R. Ashby, 86, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
She was born August 13, 1939 to August A. and Opal F. (Davis) Bachman in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Mary was a proud graduate of the Convent of the Sacred Heart.
Her professional journey saw her excel in various roles at popular establishments such as Taco Bandido, Walmart, and Michaels.
A devoted member of the Word of Life Church, she dedicated time to her spiritual family, finding solace in her faith.
Mary found joy in sewing, scrapbooking, crafting, and reading.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Eugene Bachman, Francis Bachman, Catherine Cathcart, Norma McKay, Martha Branson, Donald Bachman, Charles Bachman, August “Augie” Bachman, Leonard “Blackie” Bachman, and Theresa Anderson.
Survivors include her children, Leslie Ashby of Kansas City, MO, Stacey Nold of Union Star, MO, Brent Ashby of St. Joseph, MO, Sydney Bauer of St. Joseph, MO, and Stephanie Nader of Lenexa, KS; 15 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
