The St. Joseph Mustangs got down 4-1 early and never recovered, as the Sedalia Bombers ended the Mustangs’ six-game winning streak with an 8-5 win at Liberty Park Stadium in Sedalia Tuesday.
Sedalia scored four runs in the bottom of the third to take their first lead. They added three insurance runs in the seventh and another in the eighth.
St. Joseph scored two runs in the ninth and had two runners on base, but the rally came up short.
Mason Holton and Michael Paule each had two hits for the Mustangs. The St. Joseph pitching staff issued 13 walks in the loss.
The Mustangs fall to 12-6 on the season. St. Joseph is back on the road Wednesday to face Chillicothe. First pitch is set for 7 p.m.
