Missouri woman injured after 2-vehicle crash, fire

MERCER COUNTY — A Missouri woman was injured in an accident just before 4p.m. Friday in Mercer County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2010 Chevy HHR driven by Rachel L. Franklin, 43, Princeton, was westbound on Route E five miles southeast of Princeton.

The vehicle crossed the center line, traveled in the eastbound lane. An eastbound 2023 eastbound GMC 3500 driven by Eldo E. Eaglen, 27, Milan, attempted to avoid the Chevy by swerving to the left. The passenger side of the vehicles impacted. After impact the Chevy rotated, traveled off the south side of the road and caught fire.

Life Flight Eagle transported Franklin to St. Luke's in Kansas City. Eaglen was not injured. Franklin was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
