ATCHISON COUNTY—A 68-year-old driver avoided serious injury after an accident Saturday in Atchison County.
According to Police Chief Mike Wilson, an unoccupied vehicle rolled from a stopped position in a parking lot on the south side of the 900 block U.S.59 and ended up on a hillside on the north side of U.S.59.
The driver who had exited the vehicle to adjust a windshield wiper was examined at the scene by EMS but was not transported. He was injured trying to stop the moving vehicle. Police did not release his name.
