A 27-year-old St. Joseph man survived a horrific car crash just before one o’clock this morning.
St. Joseph police report Zane Smith suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries in the crash near 11th and Penn.
Police say Smith’s vehicle went airborne after hitting the concrete base of a light pole. Smith was ejected from the vehicle before it caught fire.
Charges are pending. Police believe Smith was speeding at the time of the crash.
