Driver avoids injury after falling asleep at the wheel

ANDREW COUNTY —A Nebraska truck driver avoided injury after an accident just before 5:30a.m. Thursday in Andrew County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2017 Kenworth semi driven by William J. Loomis, 43, Cortland, NE., was southbound on U.S. 71 two miles south of Savannah. 

The driver fell asleep. The truck traveled off the east side of the road and overturned.  Andrew County EMS transported Loomis to Mosaic Life Care. He was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
