The Benton girls' basketball team took first in the girls' basketball city jamboree at the MWSU Fieldhouse Thursday.
The Cardinals, who took second in Class 4 at state last season, won the last game of the night over Lafayette, 19-18. Benton sealed the victory with Emma Loehnig's buzzer beater shot from the baseline.
Benton also beat Bishop LeBlond 19-12 and Central 26-4.

The Irish took second place with two wins. The boys' city jamboree is Friday night at 5:30 at the MWSU Fieldhouse.
