ATCHISON COUNTY —A Kansas man avoided serious injury after an accident just before 11a.m. Thursday in Atchison.
According to Police Chief Mike Wilson, a Jeep SUV driven by Joseph Hunt, 32, Atchison, was southbound in the 1200 Block of North River Road. The SUV rear-ended a semi driven by Leavy Jones, 30, Kansas City Kansas, who had slowed to allow a northbound truck to pass.
Due to heavy truck traffic on the River Road there was a lot of dust on the gravel roadway. EMS was on the scene and examined Hunt but he was not transported.
