The Missouri Department of Transportation has awarded a contract to Collins & Hermann, Inc. for a significant signage replacement project across Andrew and Buchanan counties.
The upgrades will focus on large, overhead directional signs along several major corridors to improve navigation and safety for regional travelers.
The work is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 9, and will span multiple high-traffic routes. In Andrew County, crews will replace signage on Interstate 29, I-229, and U.S. Route 59.
The project extends into Buchanan County, covering:
- Interstate 29 and I-229
- U.S. Route 36 and Route 59
- Missouri Route 6
- Francis and Charles streets
Motorists should prepare for short-term lane closures as crews work to remove and install the overhead structures. While the schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, MoDOT anticipates that all installations will be completed by June 2026.
MoDOT urges drivers to exercise caution when entering these active work zones. All work is weather dependent.
