Larry “Max” Pray, 79, of Savannah, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023 at home surrounded by his loved ones.
Max was born on May 25, 1944, in St. Joseph to the late Violet Marcy (Glover) Bisig and Lloyd Charles Pray. He was raised by his mother Violet and step-father Dave Bisig. Max married the late Peggy Ann (Briner) Pray on June 17, 1967. They were married for 41 years and lived in Savannah, MO.
Max was co-owner of Max & Bill’s Starters and Generators in Savannah and well known in the farming community. He was a hard worker, known for his dedication and strong work ethic. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, woodworking and loved his Koi pond! Max had a stubborn nature, which served him well and his family all agreed that he was hard on the outside and a big softy on the inside. They will miss him deeply.
Max leaves behind his sons, Micheal Pray (Cindy), of Chesapeake, VA and Jeremy Pray (Melissa); granddaughters Madison Pray, of Chesapeake, VA and Riley Spicer (Allen) of Wilmington, NC; grandsons Sheldon Pray and Jordan Huggins (Melissa) of Raleigh, NC and one great-grandson Leo Spicer; sister, Lee (Pray) Wren (Mike) of Fairfield, PA and brother, Randy Bisig of Jefferson City, MO. He is also survived by his loving companion of 8 years, JoAnn.
Max was preceded in death by his beloved wife Peggy, mother, Violet (Pray) Bisig, father, Lloyd Pray, step-father Dave Bisig, brother Charles Pray all of Savannah, MO and sister, Donna Jean (Pray) Klug of Lee Summit, MO
Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home of Savannah, MO has been entrusted with funeral arrangements. A private interment service will be held at Savannah Cemetery to honor Max's memory at a later date.
