Missouri running back Jamal Roberts has been red hot over the last two weeks, and was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week after an outstanding performance against Texas A&M.
Roberts followed up the first 200-yard game of his career in the win over then No. 8 Florida, rushing 24 times for 211 yards with three touchdowns, putting up another career day against the Aggies, rushing 34 times for 222 yards with a pair of touchdowns. A 54-yard scoring scamper in the fourth quarter iced the win for the Tigers with 208 of his 222 yards coming after contact. Roberts became the first Mizzou player in program history to stack together back-to-back 200-yard rushing performances in addition to becoming just the third SEC running back in the past 20 seasons to do so.
Filling in for the injured Ahmad Hardy, Roberts has already had a career season for Missouri. Roberts has rushed 147 times for 828 yards with eight touchdowns while adding 11 catches for 84 yards. He currently ranks first in the SEC in rushing yards and carries, but second nationally in both categories, trailing Boise State's Dylan Riley in yards (835) and West Virginia's Cam Cook in carries (153). His eight touchdowns are tied for second in the SEC, trailing Florida's Jadan Baugh, and seventh nationally.
