Jackie Lee Sedgwick, passed away at home on October 15, 2025. He was born in Carrolton, MO on April 30, 1940 to Alice (Johnson) and Willis Sedgwick, who preceded him in death. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the Army in 1958, serving until he was honorably discharged in 1964. His tours of duty included the Panama Canal Zone. Most of his working life was spent doing construction and painting, and he was an expert woodworker.
He is survived by his wife Judith (Sapp) Sedgwick, whom he married on August 18, 1988. He is also survived by his children; Tom, Jackie Jr, Phillip, Jeff, Cindy and Chris; as well as his step children Victor Kaiser, Cindy Dale, Kim Bracken, Robert Kaiser, and Kay McDonald; as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Wayne Sedgwick.
He will be remembered as a loving, devoted husband and father, never turning down a request to help with a project no matter how large or small. Ask, and he would show up with his tools ready to help - and teach.
He will be missed. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Platte City Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by: Rollins Funeral Home-Platte City, MO-816-858-2129
