Christopher "Malaki" Evans, a cherished son and devoted father passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the age of 26.
Born on March 29, 1999, Malaki filled the lives of his parents, Christopher Evans and Heather Evans, with joy from day one.
Above all else, Malaki's greatest love was his family, especially his precious daughter, Aundrea. He poured his heart into being a loving and present father, and the bond they shared was a beautiful light in his life.
Malaki was known for his remarkable abilities and his passion for the simple things in life. He was the family's go-to problem solver, possessing the talent to fix anything from mechanical repairs to household repairs. When he wasn't lending a helping hand, he could often be found pursuing his favorite pastime: Fishing. He loved to brag about his fishing holes to friends and family yet the truth was the quiet peace of the water brought him immense comfort, and he cherished every moment he could. He always had photos of him smiling after catching those monsters!
He leaves behind a legacy of love…
Malaki was preceded in death by his grandmother Kathy Leek; and great-grandparents Anna Mae and Reuben Joseph Chappell.
Malaki is survived by his daughter, Aundrea Evans; His father, Christopher (Ashley Thomas) Evans; His mother, Heather Evans; His brother Stephen Evans; His sister Milla-Marie Smith; His sister Akasha Schank; His brother Korry Schank.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Malaki’s precious daughter Aundrea in care of Heaton-Bowman Smith & Sidenfaden Funeral Home.
Visitation will be November 25, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel in St. Joseph, MO.
